A longtime admirer of tape loop artists, I wanted to test the waters. I spent a humid July Sunday in my bedroom with no AC—making loops, wrangling cables, and twisting knobs. I think you can hear the sweat. By early evening I had a bunch of sounds. Then as the day ended, I listened, exploring the assemblage—and out came Filled the Whole World with Noise.
